Talk
about Love - Art Show & Auction – St. Sauveur
Photo: Painting
by Louise Bloom who participates in the Auction to benefit
“L’Échelon de Pays-d’en-haut”, which takes place February 23rd at
the Chalet Pauline Vanier, St. Sauveur.
“L’Échelon des Pays-d’en-Haut”, is a community daytime resource
center for mental health, located in Piedmont. As part of their
alternative well being program, the center offers art activities as
well as outings, and communal meal preparations. The Staff is
dedicated to alternative treatment and the well being of those
seeking help. Those who come for support become members who help
each other. Unlike other health-care methods, people who use this
center are autonomous, and even participate in the in
decision-making taking part in the board of directors. It is an
alternative way to provide moral support at difficult times, aiming
at preventing recurring problems. No records are kept, no referral
is necessary, no pre-conceptions!
Each
year, the center invites local artists to donate a painting for an
auction. There are sixty invited artists who every year donate
their creations towards this valuable program. These are all
artists who have become well known in the Laurentians and elsewhere,
such as Louise Bloom, Jean-Louis Courteau, and Dominique Normand.
This is one more example of our artists’ contributions to their
community. Their paintings, as well as those of members of the
Echelon center, will be shown at the Chalet Pauline Vanier in St.
Sauveur as of February 3rd. The show “Parle-moi
d'amour dans les Pays-d'en-Haut”
The auction will take place on February 23rd, 5:30 p.m. For
more information about this project please call 450 227-3712.
