You’re Gonna Rire – le show Franglais - Sugar Sammy is an internationally successful stand-up comedian. He already has a bestselling DVD, and appeared in various television shows. He was dubbed "Comedy's New Rock Star". Sugar Sammy performs in four languages (English, French, Punjabi and Hindi), and travels the world, performing in cities and countries such as London, the U.S., Dubai, South Africa, Singapore, Holland, Australia, and Canada. He participated in the Montreal “Just For Laughs Festival” seven times; performed at the Sydney, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Melbourne, Auckland, Halifax and Winnipeg festivals as well as “Le Grand Rire” festival in Quebec City, where he performs in French. Dawn Tyler Watson & Paul Deslauriers
She sings the blues and he sings and does magic with his guitar. Dawn Tyler Watson, who has been coined Montreal’s “Queen of the Blues”, has teamed up with virtuoso guitarist and singer/songwriter Paul Deslauriers to create a unique duo in 2004. They have been captivating audiences with their two voices and a six-string guitar playing in Russia, France, Belgium and Lithuania to full houses. Their first album “En Duo” won best Blues record in 2009. They have just recorded their second album to be released soon. Sat., Jan., 28, 8 p.m. Tickets: 35$. Inside-Out - Hommage to Pink Floyd

The musical magic of Pink Floyd is a show that has been touring Quebec for the past three years. Eight musicians perform on stage, along with video projections, lasers lights and other visual effects, reviving albums such as “Wish You Were Here”, “The Wall”, “The Division Bell”, and “The Dark Side of the Moon”. Yogane Lacombe and Jonathan Jolin – Prevost

Trois – St. Jerome
The three pop-singers who sing in perfect harmony are: tenors Jean Sébastien Lavoie, Martin Moerman, and Pascal Gauthier. They are considered to be the Quebec “Il Divo”. The program includes songs from their first album popular pieces such as Moon River, Halleluiah, and well known French songs. U Swing-Jazz - Prevost
U Swing is a quartet playing vocals, bass, percussion, guitar, mandolin and keyboards. The musicians are Vincent Gosselin - bass and vocals, Stéphane Chartrand - drums (or percussion), Nicolas Major - guitar, mandolin and vocals, Marc-Étienne Savage - keyboards. The group headed by Vincent Gosselin plays a large repertoire interpreting Jazz classics with a magical touch. It promises to be a memorable evening. Tickets: $25. Ariane Brunet – St. Sauveur
For Valentine’s weekend, Café de la Gare brings a young writer, composer, performer Ariane Brunet. She sings jazzy-folk with a soft voice that captivates audiences. Ima - St. Jerome
This sensual singer performs songs from her album “Precious” including many well known songs, and makes the audience dance to the sound of “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy” of Rod Stewart, “You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine” of Lou Rawls, and “Your The First, The Last, My Everything” by Barry White. Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides – St. Jerome

Tuesday, Jan., 17, 7 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., the Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides offers a voyage into Marc Séguin’s universe.  It will start with a guided tour of the exhibition La Foi du collectionneur, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., then a screening of the film Bull’s Eye, un peintre à l’affût, by Bruno Boulianne, a close look at the man and artist at the Salle Antony-Lessard from 8 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., followed by a public discussion.  Tickets: $10, museum members $8, cost for film only is $5. presents a series of paintings by Dariana Ugalde, who lives and paints in St. Sauveur. These are abstract paintings, which allow Dariana freedom, energy and spontaneity. The pallet is minimal but texture is paramount, she uses cement, plasters and objects or particles found in nature.

 

The process of material and paint application is an integral part of her aesthetic experience. One can find movement, clean lines, and empty spaces. She strives at simplicity while expressing a deep bond with nature. Dariana has been paining since childhood. She calls the space where she paints a lab! She keeps on researching new methods, themes and materials. She says “Painting chose me!”

Pauline Paquin moved her gallery to a new location. This self-taught figurative oil painter is well known for her particular style, depicting children at play which she continues to do since 1979. In her paintings children enjoy the freedom to play mostly outdoors, wearing colourful outfits. A joy of life emanates from Pauline’s paintings. The fact that the children are painted without facial features, allows viewers to recall the magic of their own childhood. In addition to her paintings, Pauline also displays a series of cheerful painted clay sculptures in the same style of her paintings, as well as the work of a few other Quebec artists. This is a cooperative of artists and artisans who opened a unique village café. There is a wide variety of gifts including Jübille-eco-Jewellery by Julie E. Draws, made of recycled bicycle pieces. Discover the Laurentian Region from Another Angle…
The “Chemin du Terroir,” is a sign-posted trail that takes you through more than 226 kilometers of country back roads and byways, with discoveries to make at every turn. It features a wealth of agricultural tourism and a heritage tour. This is a good idea for a family tour of the lower Laurentians and the Argenteuil region. You will find: Wine, Honey products and syrup, black current wine, frozen ciders, cheese, pies, cakes, other delicacies such as smoked meats, chocolates, jellies, hand made fine craft objects and lots more.
