Call to Professional Painters & Sculptors

"La Farandole des arts visuels de Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson"

The 5th Farandole des arts of Sainte-Marguerite-du-lac-Masson will take place August 24, 25 & 26, 2012.   It is an art event that draws over 15,000 visitors. Forty painters and twenty sculptors will be selected by a professional jury. There will also be ten internationally known artists invited to participate in this event. The event will take place at the municipal cultural center Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson. Due date for portfolio submission is Friday, March 2nd, 2012. Portfolio should include: An updated CV, Artist Statement (Max. 1 page), 6 – 19 (printed) photos with descriptions (a CD with two images can be added too); two cheques: one for $45 and one for $30, both made to “Farandole des arts visuels” dated on shipping date (the first will be cashed for opening the file the other will only be cashed if artist is accepted or returned to artist along with a letter and the portfolio). Call to Visual Artists - l’Espace Fresque

If you wish to exhibit with LE TEMPS … at the Val-David church, submit your portfolio by November 18, 2011 for the next exhibition which will take place Dec., 17 to March 19, 2012. Artists wll be selected by a professional jury. Registration forms are available by writing to letempsnous@yahoo.ca.

The portfolio should contain: an updated CV (Max 3 pages), an artist statement (150 to 250 words), registration form with the agreement of acceptance of conditions duly signed, as well as high resolution images. You may wish to visit the current exhibition open Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The “Conseil de la culture des Laurentides” invites professional artists to submit proposals for the possible purchase of works of art to present award recipients at the Grand Prix event. The CCL will select a minimum of three (3) from the submissions received. The items should not exceed the cost of $500 including delivery to the CCL offices and taxes. The items should already be done, no mock-up or sketches would be accepted. The theme for the 2011 Grand Prix culture des Laurentides is history and heritage. You have until Friday October 14 to send us your proposal (photos, description, price, and size.) to communications@culturelaurentides.com.

During the St. Sauveur Arts Festival, there were a few 5 p.m. Zumba "Yes you can Dance" sessions at Park Filion. Sylvie Condrain (wearing blue in the center, came with a few of her students.   She is moving her center to a new location on 146 Boul. Labelle (across from Lorraine) on September 1, 2011. Until then, you can still take classes or register for the next session and become a "Zumbette!" More to come! Sylvie Condrain

The annual competition at the Maison de la culture St. Faustin concluded July 31^st. Denise Mayer of Morin Heights won the first prize for Digital Art & Photography for her piece entitled “Metta-Flor.” She has also submitted a piece entitled “Le Huitième jour”, to ”Expo SP’ART” at the Bell Sports Complex, 8000 boul. Leduc, Brossard, Aug., 12-14. Jury prize will be announced on August 14^th at 4 p.m. Good Luck Denise!

Maison de la culture Lachute

The Lachute is planning its schedule of exhibitions for Maison de la culture during 2012. Laurentian Professional Artist 2011

It is time to submit candidates for the 2011 « Creation » prize from « Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec ». Eligible artist requirements are: Submit or accept nomination to CCL by a third party. Artist has already received a prize or an award by a recognized non-profit organization, or has been commissioned within the art integration in public buildings project (the 1% policy). The artist creates significant artwork. Artist resides in the Laurentians for at least one year. Artist is active in the region. Documents at: www.culturelaurentides.com/evenements/grand_prix.html. The duly completed forms should be submitted before Thursday, August 25, 5 p.m. to Conseil de la culture des Laurentides: 223, rue St-Georges, bureau 400, Saint-Jérôme (Qc) J7Z 5A1. The selection will be done by the CALQ.
