The
Joseph-Filion Regional Museum -
Temporary exhibits: Nostalgia of the 1950s, and the life of
herbalist John Tapp (French) and his museum of 1942-1958. See the
foundry of 1860 and its equipment, as well as 30 costumes from the
19th century. The museum is open until Oct. 2. Wed-Sun:

Walking tours of Old St. Eustache start at Maison de la
culture et du patrimoine, 235, rue Saint-Eustache. Cost $5. Two
circuits to choose from, one about the history and personalities,
and the other about the battle of the Patriots of Dec., 14, 1837.
Daily: from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Another tour guided visit to
“Moulin Légaré,” the oldest flour mill in the north, which operated
with water power; and a visit to Manoir Globensky, to see an
exhibition about the 1837 rebellion of the Two-Mountain region. Cost

Mont Laurier
A free 3-hour, 55-Km tour Mont-Laurier- Kiamika is offered to
associations and travelling groups. Tour includes the two unique
Quebec covered bridges of Ferme-Rouge. Reservations required. Also
until Aug., 21 a 1-hour guided walking tour of Mont-Laurier – Wed.,
to Sun., twice a day at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. An interesting autumn
colours 216-km bus tour is planned for Sept., 25, 9 a.m. Cost: $30

Labelle
History Tour -
Free self-guided tour, starting at Parc des Cheminots, 178; rue du
Dépôt 819 686-2606 (Tourist information office) visiting thirteen
sites relating to Labelle’s history. There is also a museum at the
Labelle Station with a permanent exhibition of photos and objects
from the Canadian Pacific train and of Herman Johannsen, a.k.a. Jack
Rabbit.
Historical Society of “Chute aux Iroquois” -
This spot offers audio-visual projections about the Laurentians and

Fireworks
and Music in Ste.
Agathe!
The
First Festival “Sainte-Agathe en Feux” takes place Wed., July 27
to Sun., July 31. The festival features two venues: Place
Lagny where there are free activities for the whole family, and
visitors can enjoy the Jean Coutu Circus for children, the Coke
Brigade, and the big truck with fun stuff with coke bottles, wind
surfer and beach balloons to be won. On Sunday, July 31, there will
be a Guinness Record longest picnic table for those who bring their
own lunch.

Performances and fireworks are featured at the Place du Festival
(Plage Tessier) - Four women singers share the stage:

“American Idol” 2009 who went on to fascinate the public, Fri.,
July 29, at 9 p.m.; Kenny
Rogers, Country-pop singer who has been entertaining people for
the past fifty years whose famous songs “Lady” and “Lucille” are
still popular, will perform at the Tessier Beach on Sat., July 30th,
at 9 p.m.; Maxime Landry, (winner of the 2009 Star
Academy), performs Sun., July 31. Concert tickets range
from $34.95 to $57.95 the ticket entitles holder to the light show.
Every evening there will be fireworks show, for which tickets may be
